Spring Alumni Weekend Testimonials

Never been to Spring Alumni Weekend or A Charleston Affair? Read testimonials below from some of our alumni attendees.

A Charleston Affair, previously known as the Alumni Reception,

has always been a highlight of the year for Gloria and me. We reconnect with many of our “old” friends we don’t see regularly, and we get to mingle with the graduating students. It’s important to pass on what the College has meant to us to the new generation of alumni in hopes they will feel the same way about our alma mater as they get older. They are the future!

My husband, Mark, and I have attended the last three Charleston Affair celebrations!

The campus and the Cistern are amazing. We enjoy strolling on campus to the many different events and activities. The food is excellent, the band is outstanding, and the fellowship is unforgettable! Every year we reconnect with old friends from our CofC days!

– Linda Swain Crabbe ’78 | Sumter, SC

What a great party!

Attending A Charleston Affair is like catching up with that old friend who picks up right where you left off. I always look forward to reconnecting to some of my favorite times, places, and people. I love seeing how things have changed, yet stayed the same over the years.

My wife, Angela, and I have attended A Charleston Affair the last several years.

It is a great chance to get back to Charleston, catch up with old friends, and see what is new on the CofC campus. If you are looking for a good reason to spend a weekend in Charleston, A Charleston Affair is it. It’s a great event!

In compliance with the Centers for Disease Control’s March 16 recommendation advising against gatherings of 50 or more people for the next eight weeks, the Alumni Association has decided to cancel Spring Alumni Weekend 2020 scheduled for May 1-3. While we know this is disappointing news, our top priority is the safety of our students, alumni, faculty, staff, families, and neighbors. If you have purchased tickets to Spring Alumni Weekend events, please be assured you will receive a refund soon directly from our ticket broker, Eventbrite. Meanwhile, we hope you will plan to join us for Fall Alumni Weekend, November 20-22.
